conditions - Post Operative Pain, Nausea, Vomiting, Fatigue

Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is a common complication after surgery, and most patients experience moderate or severe pain following surgery.

During a surgical operation tissue is cut, stretched, and manipulated, and this trauma causes blood to stagnate, including the formation of a bruising. Further scar tissue forms where cuts through tissue have been made and this prevents energy (Qi) and blood from moving through it freely & smoothly, which usually results in pain.

In Chinese Medicine theory this stagnation of Qi and Blood in the Acupuncture channels causes obstruction of their smooth free flow circulation in the body and results in pain.

Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine before and after surgery can speed up this process of returning smooth free flow circulation of Qi, Fluids and Blood around the body, as well as promote faster healing, in order to re-establish the energy flow, reduce or eliminates the pain resulting from operations and post-operative inflammation, swelling and scaring is also reduced. In addition to Acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy can also be a very effective way to manage and treat post-operative pain, swelling, inflammation, scaring and other problems such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, loss of appetite, for example.
