Chinese Nutrition - Food as Medicine

"Food as Medicine"

Chinese Nutrition, also known as TCM Nutrition, is a comprehensive healing system designed to help balance your body's energy and maintain harmony in your body's physiological functioning.

It uses Chinese Medicine theory and principles applied to the foods we eat to help resolve, energetic imbalances, leading to better health.

Chinese nutrition looks at the importance of finding a daily balance of flavours (sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, and salty) and thermal properties (cold vs hot), for example, and can include vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds, nuts & legumes, meat, spices, herbs, and beverages.

All plant and animal-based foods are assigned both a flavours and a temperature, as mentioned above. For example, beets are to be cool and sweet. The coolness calms the heart from the agitation caused by heat in the chest.

Chinese nutrition not only helps in the recovery from various illness, but importantly helps in the prevention of illness arising, maintaining a strong immune system, and balanced, healthy mind and body.
